Paper or Plastic? Plastic

I started getting involved in music around the seventh grade when I ran into my current best friend Chris.  It began as just something to pass the time in between grade school and going to bed at night, but I decided to take it a step further.  I began taking lessons only a couple of months later where I learned the basics of playing guitar.  I stayed with my guitar teacher for another three years before deciding that learning songs was not the way to learn music.  While looking for another guitar teacher, I found an increased interest in progressive music like Dream Theater and Angra.  After that I knew I needed to learn more music theory and really learn the concept behind the music rather than just the notes.  This realization brought me to guitar and bass teacher Steve Johnson in Flemington, New Jersey.  Steve taught me a lot of music theory and helped to further my knowledge of the music concept.  Unfortunately, the start of college greatly cut down on free time and I was unable to continue taking lessons. The time that was spent with Steve left me with vital knowledge of music, which carries over when playing with Suspyre.

In my freshman year of high school I met former Suspyre drummer Sam Paulicelli through a friend in English class.  It took only a few days before music was a topic of conversation and we set up a day to jam.  After that day we were jamming on a constant basis and formed that emo band “far from last”.  As my music interest was growing I started to steer away from the whole emo scene and began looking for other options.  My sophomore year of high school is when I met Rich during the school guitar show “Guitar Showcase”.  Little did I know then that Rich and I would be playing together a few years down the road. After Rich graduated that year, I continued to play in the guitar showcase the remaining years of my stay at Hunterdon Central Regional High School.  I further progressed my understanding of music during this time along with learning how to play with others in a band.  The last two years of high school, class work and trying to get into colleges took up most of my time.  However, my senior year of high school was when I met Gregg and I began hanging out with Suspyre during the recording of A Silvery Image.  The year after that I picked up the bass to help Suspyre out at a show that Kirk, the old bass player, could not attend.  The rest after that is all history.
